Project Prevention offers three key programs designed to support, uplift, and empower Chicago's youth. Each program is tailored to address specific needs, from academic achievement to mental health and community engagement.
The Flying High Program is our educational component, focusing on improving academic achievement and preparing youth for college and career readiness. We provide intensive academic tutoring and expose youth to life outside their communities, using the city as our classroom.
180° is the mental health component, designed for youth struggling with behavioral, social, and emotional issues. This program empowers youth to make positive changes, develop coping skills for life’s stressors, and manage traumatic experiences. We utilize the Strengths-Based Model for individual and group counseling.
This program bridges the gap between parents, youth, schools, and the community. It provides community outreach, builds positive relationships, and offers resources to support at-risk youth. We also provide workshops to enhance parenting skills. Other elements include Mentoring, Recreation, Technology, Restorative Justice, and Artistic Expression through dance, poetry, music, and theater.
